Digital Learning Center

Start a Campaign

India has the second-largest internet user base in the world. Even rural villages have internet access. But children in rural villages still can't access a classroom unless they have a tablet or computer.

There are currently about 100 students who are not able to continue with their studies because they do not have a tablet or android.

Will YOU put learning into the hands of one of these students?

A gift of $100 will provide 1 tablet with earphones for 1 student.

The Gift of Learning Through Digital Access
The pandemic has brought about many challenges for students in grades K-12. In rural India, the challenges only amplified many of the preexisting issues school-aged children living in India’s rural villages were facing regarding education. One of which being the uneven distribution of access to digital technology. Both the pandemic as well as the Indian government’s mandated lockdowns have impacted and disrupted the educational process for the majority of these children in the worst ways.

In an effort to bridge this gap and help bring relief to the youth in rural communities, IGL has launched a program called the Rural Enterprise for Digital Education (REDE). This program will introduce digital literacy at both the primary and high school levels, for students in over 200 villages in India during the next two years. REDE will help these communities by:

Setting up E-learning sites in each rural village that has been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

Providing students with access to necessary hardware and technology.

Creating satellite learning centers so that students, as well as teachers, can be digitally connected to the Sharon School.

Since the start of the program, seven classrooms have been upgraded with digital learning labs at the Sharon Schools, which are also equipped with audio and video technology. In addition, two village E-learning satellite centers have also been established to reach rural children via E-learning technology.
